Bachelor of Information Technology (bacc. inf. tech.)

The degree gave me the technical core: writing code in procedural and object-oriented languages as well as Python, building web and mobile applications, designing databases and judging when an algorithm is good enough. On top of that: operating systems, computer networks and protocols, systems engineering, ICT security, business intelligence and working with big data.

The programme is built around business processes, not just code — so alongside the technical work I learned to model a process, design an information system around it, weigh the economic, legal and security risks, and recommend the ICT infrastructure a company actually needs. It closed with a supervised IT internship and a final professional thesis.

I defended my thesis — “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Cybersecurity: Opportunity or Threat?” — in July 2026 with the highest grade, examining AI both as a defensive tool and as a source of new threats.

All three years were done alongside full-time clinical work.

PC building, repair & support

I build computers from individual components — selecting and matching the motherboard, CPU, memory, GPU, power supply and storage, through clean cable management, to fitting liquid cooling. I work with current platforms (AM5, DDR5, PCIe 5.0), configure UEFI/BIOS and memory profiles, and tune fan and pump curves against real temperatures — so a build ends up stable, quiet and matched to its purpose: gaming, work or video editing.

It has also made me the person friends and family call when something stops working, which is its own kind of training: listen to a vague description of a problem, work out what is really wrong, fix it, and explain it in words the other person understands.

Health informatics in daily practice

Every shift runs on the hospital information system and on machines that are, underneath, computers with a very low tolerance for error. Years of working inside clinical software and equipment taught me how much depends on systems being reliable, understandable, and usable by people who have no time to fight them.

Day to day I set up, operate and monitor hemodialysis and continuous-therapy machines — entering the prescribed treatment parameters, reading what the machine reports, and clearing alarms mid-procedure. When something goes wrong I troubleshoot it, fix what can be fixed on the spot, and escalate the rest to technical service. It is work with specialised interfaces where a wrong input has real consequences, so precision and reading the system are simply assumed.

Specialist Military Medical Training — VSSp 33AV11 "Medical Technician"

The course that qualified me as a medical technician inside the armed forces: triage and treatment under field conditions, casualty handling and evacuation, and medical logistics — civilian clinical training rebuilt for places where there is no hospital to hand the patient to.

Soldier — Medical Technician / Machine Gunner

Active service carrying two roles at once: medical technician for the unit and machine gunner in the squad. Field medical support and casualty care on one side, weapons handling, drill and logistics on the other — and underneath both, the plain discipline of a unit that has to be ready without notice.

Conscript — Voluntary Military Service Programme

Basic military training: drill, weapons, field craft, physical conditioning and life in a unit. Nobody sent me — I signed up, and then stayed on.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)

Graduate degree taken alongside full-time work: advanced clinical practice, healthcare organisation and management, research methods, and health informatics.

Bachelor of Nursing (BSc)

Undergraduate nursing — anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, internal medicine and surgical nursing, with clinical placements rotating through hospital departments.

Medical Technician

Four-year secondary medical programme — where it all started, at fifteen.

Master of Science in Nursing — Hemodialysis Department

Dialysis patients come back three times a week, for years — so you get to know them, and they get to know whether they can trust you. The technical side: preparing and priming the extracorporeal circuit, cannulating and caring for vascular access, monitoring blood pressure, fluid balance and the whole session for the complications that come with it, and operating, checking and maintaining the machines themselves.

The rest of it: patient and family education, documentation in the hospital information system, and staying calm when a treatment goes wrong at three in the morning.
